Why do we support Single Parents and how it impacts Children?

Economic Stability

Single parents, particularly mothers, are at a higher risk of poverty. Providing economic support and skills training helps reduce child poverty and gives children access to essential resources.

In India, 76% of single-parent households are led by women, and children in these households are more likely to live in poverty (UNICEF, 2020)
Better Mental & Emotional Health

Reduced stress for parents leads to a more supportive home environment, boosting children’s emotional stability.

A stable, supportive home environment can reduce behavioral issues in children by up to 30% (American Psychological Association, 2019)
Improved Academic Performance

With parental support, children in single-parent homes are more likely to perform well in school and have access to better educational opportunities.

Parental support improves educational outcomes for children in single-parent households by 40% (National Institute of Child Health, 2018)
Breaking the Cycle of Poverty

Empowering single mothers with financial literacy, skills, and community support helps break the cycle of poverty, leading to better futures for both mothers and children.

Children of economically stable single parents are 25% more likely to escape poverty as adults (UN Women, 2021)
Stronger Social Skills

A well-supported family helps children develop confidence, resilience, and stronger social connections.

Children in socially connected single-parent families show 20% higher social skills and resilience. (Harvard University Center on the Developing Child, 2020)
